Removing and installing sealing ring for parking lock shaft








Preliminary work

Danger
Vehicle raised incorrectly
Danger of fatal injury and material damage should the vehicle fall down

- Jack the vehicle at the prescribed jacking points.

1. Move selector lever to position "P".
2. Jack and raise the vehicle at the prescribed jacking points.

Removing sealing ring for parking lock shaft

1. Remove parking lock cable on the Porsche Doppelkupplung.

1.1. Press ball joint of parking lock cable -1- off the parking lock lever.
1.2. Release parking lock cable -1- at the bracket by pressing the locking lugs -arrows- together and pull it out.
2. Remove parking lock lever.

Unscrew M8 nut, loosen parking lock lever from the parking lock shaft and remove it.

3. Remove sealing ring for parking lock shaft.

Pierce the sealing ring -1- for the parking lock shaft -2- with a small screwdriver and lever it out.

Information
During installation, make sure that the selector lever is in position "P" on the selector support and at the rear end position on the transmission. The parking lock must be fully engaged. Avoid "tooth-on-tooth" position.

1. Install sealing ring for parking lock shaft.
1.1. Fit sealing ring for parking lock shaft.

Thinly coat outer circumference and sealing lip of sealing ring with Vaseline.

1.2. Tap in sealing ring for parking lock shaft using the pressure sleeve T10174 (-1-) or a long No. 13 wrench until it fits perfectly into the transmission.

2. Install parking lock shaft.

Fit parking lock lever and press it onto the parking lock shaft. Then, screw on and tighten the M8 nut.

- Tightening torque: 16 Nm (12 ftlb.)

3. Engage parking lock cable on the Porsche Doppelkupplung.

3.1. Check that the gear selector on the selector support is in position "P" and is locked.
3.2. Check that the transmission parking lock is fully engaged.
3.3. Fit the parking lock cable -arrow- on the bracket, press it in and engage it.
3.4. Press ball joint of parking lock cable -1- onto the parking lock lever.

Note: The parking lock cable must only be connected without preload.

Subsequent work

1. Switch through all transmission ranges and check operation.
