Main Headlights

The Bi-Xenon headlights with a double-lens projection system are oval-shaped in typical Porsche style and are integrated elegantly into the new front. Even the basic models now feature Bi-Xenon lighting technology with gas-discharge lamps as standard.

While before, the dipped beam headlight had a lens and the auxiliary headlight had a reflector, every light function now has its own lens.

The clear-glass design of all headlights gives an unrestricted view of the sophisticated lighting technology with the dynamic cornering light, which is available on request for the first time ever for the new 911 models: the headlight module swivels outward by up to 15 degrees and provides considerably better illumination of corners in the road.

In addition to automatic, dynamic headlight beam adjustment (HBA), the system also features the standard headlight cleaning system. Improved positioning of the new nozzle and a modified stroke has doubled the cleaning effect.

The Bi-Xenon light offers the following advantages over halogen lights for dipped beam headlights:
- Better illumination of the road due to a very high volume of light
- Improved light/dark limit
- Good colour vision due to a high colour temperature
- Xenon headlights have a longer service life
- Headlight beam adjustment adapts to suit the driving situation

When designing the elements of the headlights, attention was paid to achieving high luminous intensity while avoiding any interference with the air flow to the radiators located behind them as far as possible and thus maintaining the required radiator performance. This is possible thanks to the compact design of the LED technology used, which also has lower energy requirements and offers a long service life of more than 10,000 hours - up to 50 times longer than ordinary bulbs.

Not all light functions can be offered in all markets due to the different legal requirements. Daytime driving lights are not available in Japan, for example, and the corresponding menu item does not appear in the instrument cluster.

Daytime driving lights can be deactivated at the request of the customer, provided this does not contravene the applicable legal requirements, e.g. in Canada. Daytime driving lights can be deactivated either using the PIWIS Tester (coding in the front-end control unit and instrument cluster) or directly under Settings/Lights in the instrument cluster menu.
