The display and operating concept of the new PCM system has been enhanced significantly and is a key component of the totally improved operating ergonomics. For the first time ever, all models feature a color touchscreen as standard, which can be used to select all functions simply by touch. This allows fast and easy navigation through the menus. In addition, PCM can still be operated using the familiar rotary/push knobs as required.

The touchscreen has a long-lasting, easy-to-clean coating. It protects the surface from marks and soiling from fingerprints. By integrating the number pad into the touchscreen control panel, it was possible to significantly increase the diameter of the color screen from 5.8 to 6.5 inches compared to the last generation.







For greater clarity and ease of use, many of the key functions (hard keys) have been integrated into the touchscreen. It was thus possible to reduce the number of hard keys by half from 32 to 16 compared with the previous model - without compromising on functionality. In addition, a number of functions that are rarely used were moved to a second menu level ("Option"). A maximum of five list entries are now displayed on each page - giving a much clearer screen display that is considerably easier to read.

An intelligent Help function with operating instructions in the footer of the screen provide added support for users in many situations, e.g. for storing radio stations or inserting CDs into the internal autochanger.
