Diagnosis information - DME (DFI)

Coolant temperature sensor, electrical fault

NOTE:
The fault is detected when:
- the measured coolant temperature is below -40 °C (-40 °F) with ignition on or engine running and intake air temperature more than -30 °C (-22 °F),
or
- the measured coolant temperature is below -40 °C (-40 °F) with engine running more than 300 s,
or
- the measured coolant temperature is above +130 °C (266 °F) with ignition on or engine running,

Diagnostic conditions
- Vehicle voltage more than 9 V
- Intake air temperature more than -30 °C (-22 °F)
- Engine running more than 5 minutes

Possible fault causes
- Loose contact or corrosion on connectors or lines
- Short circuit to B+/ground/between lines or open circuit in the lines
- Coolant temperature sensor faulty
