Diagnosis information - DME (DFI)

Knock sensor, bank 2

NOTE:
- The fault is detected if the signal of the knock sensor changes insufficiently or is too weak (noise is [quieter] than expected).
- If the fault is stored, the ignition timing is retarded for all cylinders in the [knock-control active] range.
- Knock control adaptation is idle.

Diagnostic conditions
- Engine temperature more than 50 °C (122 °F)
- Time after engine starts more than 10 seconds
- Engine speed more than 1000 rpm
- Medium to high load (knock control active)

Possible fault causes
- Corrosion or loose contact of plug connection
- Short circuit to B+/ground/between wires or open circuit in the wiring
- Knock sensor loose or stuck
- Knock sensor faulty
- Much too little engine oil
- Engine mechanically damaged
