Coolant temperature implausible

Diagnostic conditions
- Coolant temperature when engine starts less than 30 °C (86 °F)
- Engine running (calculated without overrun phases) for 4 ... 20 minutes (depending on intake air temperature at engine start)
- No detection of electrical fault for coolant temperature sensor

Possible fault causes
- for PDK transmission:
- Coolant shutoff valve stuck open (e.g., vacuum hose not connected)

- Air in cooling system
- Seal in thermostat housing faulty
- Thermostat housing faulty
- Thermostat faulty
- Influence by engine-block heater
- Coolant temperature sensor faulty (incorrectly trimmed)
