- Fault code P0544/P0545/P0546/P0547/P0548/P0549 (exhaust temperature sensor).

Information:

- Sales check on new vehicles.

- Maintenance and/or repair work.

Since January 26, 2010 until further notice, vehicles will be delivered in which the fault codes mentioned above are stored in the DME fault memory.

The fault memory entry is caused by the exhaust temperature sensor.

The fault memory entry has no effect on the engine's emissions, power or component protection.

Please ignore the fault entry stored on the relevant vehicles - as specified below - during the sales check and during maintenance and repair work until further notice. We will let you know what further action is required at the relevant time.

Identification:





The vehicles that have been delivered are marked as follows:

a) Black adhesive tape on a sensor line close to the exhaust temperature sensor control unit (-A-)

b) The number 05 on the back of the control unit (-B-).

c) Newer control units (-left-) also have a black plastic sleeve around the two sensor lines close to the control unit (-C-).

Installation Position:





The exhaust temperature sensor control unit is installed in the rear left of the engine compartment (-arrow-).
