1. Remove rear wall cover. -> 555919 Removing and installing rear wall cover - section on "Removing" Service and Repair.
2. Remove engine compartment lid. -> 557819 Removing and installing engine compartment lid - section on "Removing" 557819 Removing and Installing Engine Compartment Lid.
3. Slacken the drive belt and remove it from the coolant pump pulley. -> 137819 Removing and installing drive belt - section on "Removing" Service and Repair.
4. Drain coolant. -> 193817 Draining and filling coolant - section on "Draining" Service and Repair.

Information

Specifications for wrench sizes (a/f specifications) for screw heads are described as follows:

- Torx screws: (E.) for external Torx, (T.) for internal Torx.

- Hexagon-head bolts (internal and external hexagon): Wrench size (a/f)

1. Remove two external Torx screws (E10, M6 x 12) -3- on the coolant pipe and press the coolant pipe aside slightly.

2. Remove five external Torx screws (E10) M6 x 20 -2- and one (E11) M8 x 25 -3-. Other illustration of screws => Coolant pump

2.1. Collect emerging coolant in a clean container.
3. Remove coolant pump downwards.
4. Check coolant pump pulley for damage and replace the coolant pump if necessary.
5. Clean sealing faces.

Installing coolant pump

1. Check coolant pump seal and replace it if necessary. The seal is reusable.
2. Fit coolant pump.
2.1. Position the coolant pump from below.
2.2. Fit and tighten five external Torx screws (E10) M6 x 20 -2- on the coolant pump.=> Tightening torque: 13 Nm (9.5 ftlb.)

2.3. Fit and tighten one external Torx screw (E10) M8 x 25 -3- on the coolant pump.=> Tightening torque: 23 Nm (17 ftlb.)
3. Install coolant pipe. To do this, fit and tighten two external Torx screws (E10) M6 x 12 -3-.=> Tightening torque: 13 Nm (9.5 ftlb.)

Subsequent work

1. Install drive belt. -> 137819 Removing and installing drive belt - section on "Installing" Service and Repair.
2. Fill the cooling system. -> 193817 Draining and filling coolant - section on "Filling" Service and Repair.
3. Install rear wall cover. -> 555919 Removing and installing rear wall cover - section on "Installing" Service and Repair.
4. Install engine compartment lid. -> 557819 Removing and installing engine compartment lid - section on "Installing" 557819 Removing and Installing Engine Compartment Lid.
