Removing tailpipe cover
DANGER
Vehicle can fall down
- Risk of squashing or crushing
- Risk of damage to the vehicle
-> Do not place any solid objects under the raised vehicle.
-> Ensure that the lifting platform is prevented from lowering.
-> Remove solid objects before lowering the vehicle.
-> Raise the vehicle only at the take-up points provided.
-> The outer take-up points should be used primarily.
1. Release clamping sleeve -1- from tailpipe cover.
1.1. If there is corrosion then use anti-rust agent or heat treatment.
1.2. Screw off hexagon nut.

2. Open up clamp.
Information
- Replace the ball clamp on the tailpipe cover whenever it is opened.
- When removing the tailpipe cover for the first time, remove the spotweld on the original clamp and fit a new clamp on the tailpipe cover (do not weld it).
3. Pull off tailpipe cover.
3.1. Replace the clamp.
3.2. When removing the tailpipe cover for the first time, remove the spotweld on the clamp and clean it off before fitting a new clamp.
4. Remove corrosion from the silencer flange and tailpipe cover.

Information
- If the rear silencers are replaced, set a clearance of the tailpipe cover reduced by 2 mm due to the shifting behaviour.
1. Grease the connecting areas and screw thread with high-temperature paste (e.g. Optimoly HT, Part No. 000.043.004.00) before installation.
2. Push tailpipe cover with a new clamp -1- onto the tailpipe.

2.1. Fit M10 hexagon nut so that the tailpipe cover can still just be adjusted.
3. Adjust tailpipe position as shown below.

4. Tighten M10 hex nut at the clamping sleeve.=> Tightening torque: 55 Nm
