P0135
P0135Diagnosis information - DME V6 DFI
Heater circuit, oxygen sensor ahead of cat. converter, bank 1
NOTE: Do not use contact spray on the oxygen sensor plug connections, as this may cause irreparable damage to the wiring (blocking the reference air channels).
NOTE: Do not interchange the oxygen sensor ahead of catalytic converter with the sensor behind the catalytic converter as this will result in implausible fault entries.
Diagnostic conditions
- Battery positive voltage between 10 V and 16 V
- Time after engine starts > 10 seconds
- Exhaust temperature over 600 °C (1,112 °F)
- Oxygen sensor heater control active
- No driver fault of oxygen sensor stored
Possible fault causes
- Oxygen sensor faulty
- Contact resistance between DFI control unit and oxygen sensor heater ahead of catalytic converter, bank 1
- Contact resistance between fuse FE 17 (fuse carrier in plenum panel E-box) and oxygen sensor heater ahead of catalytic converter, bank 1
- High resistance shunt to signal line
Affected contacts on the DFI control unit connector
Connector [B]:
- Contact 51
Affected contacts on the oxygen sensor connector ahead of catalytic converter, bank 1
- Contact 3
