Knock sensor 2

NOTE: If the fault is stored, the ignition timing is retarded for all cylinders in the >knock-control active< range.

NOTE: Knock control adaptation is idle.

Diagnostic conditions
- Engine at operating temperature
- Time after engine starts > 10 seconds
- Engine speed between 800 rpm and 1,200 rpm for detection of electrical faults
- Engine speed > 3,000 rpm for detection of engine problem
- Knock control active (load over 30%)

Possible fault causes
- Short circuit to B+
- Much too little engine oil
- Engine mechanically damaged

Affected contacts on the DFI control unit connector
Connector [A]:
- Contact 24
- Contact 9

Affected contacts on the knock sensor connector, bank 2
- Contact 1
- Contact 2
