Clutch switch

CAUTION:
The clutch switch is damaged upon removal
- The switch must be replaced after it has been disassembled once.
- Renewed assembly is not permitted.


NOTE: The diagnostic function monitors whether a signal arrives from the clutch switch during gear changes. The fault is stored when it is recognized that a certain number of gear changes have taken place without a signal being received from the clutch switch.

NOTE: The fault is detected by the DFI control unit and is sent to the CAN.

Diagnostic conditions
- Battery positive voltage between 10 V and 16 V
- Normal driving with several gear changes

Possible fault causes
- Car is driven without using the clutch
- Open circuit in the power supply to the clutch switch
- Clutch switch faulty
- Open circuit in the control line

Affected contacts on the DFI control unit connector
Connector [B]:
- Contact 41

Affected contacts on the clutch switch connector
Connector [A]:
- Contact 3
