Diagnosis information - DME V6 DFI

Intake air temperature stuck

NOTE:
- The intake air temperature sensor is integrated into the hot-film mass air flow sensor.
- The hot-film mass air flow sensor must not be removed, but only interchanged complete with tubular piece.

NOTE: Diagnosis compares the intake air temperature for a vehicle which has been stopped for a long period of time with the engine temperature. These values must be approximately the same when the engine is started again.

Diagnostic conditions
- Battery positive voltage between 10 V and 16 V
- Engine start temperature -35 to +50 °C (-31 to +122 °F)
- Engine switch-off temperature with prior engine operation higher than 70 °C (158 °F)
- No engine temperature sensor fault

Possible fault causes
- Intake air temperature sensor faulty (short circuit or contact resistances)

Affected contacts on the DFI control unit connector
Connector [B]:
- Contact 13

Affected contacts on the hot-film mass air flow sensor connector (naturally aspirated engine)
- Contact 1
