Diagnosis information - DME V6 DFI

Exhaust camshaft adjustment driver

NOTE:
If the fault P2090 is detected, the camshaft goes to its maximum adjusting angle.
If the fault P2091 is detected, the camshaft remains at its initial position or returns to this (no adjustment).

Diagnostic conditions
- Battery positive voltage 9 ... 16 V
- Time after engine starts > 10 seconds

Possible fault causes
- Open circuit in activation line
- Short circuit to ground in control line
- Short circuit to B+ in activation line
- Open circuit in voltage supply
- Fuse F12 faulty (fuse carrier in plenum panel E-box)
- K7 connection point disconnected
- Intake camshaft adjuster faulty
- Solenoid hydraulic valve faulty

Affected contacts on the DFI control unit connector

- Contact 21

Affected contacts on the intake camshaft adjuster connector
- Contact 1
- Contact 2

NOTE: The line for fuse F12 and contact 1 of the intake camshaft adjuster connector is routed via contact 4 of the KE 7 connection point.
