Diagnosis information - DME V6 DFI

Lambda correction behind cat. conv., bank 1 - control limit exceeded

NOTE: The fault means that the oxygen sensor behind the catalytic converter has detected a mixture deviation which was not detected by the oxygen sensor ahead of the catalytic converter.

NOTE: Do not use contact spray on the oxygen sensor's plug connections as this will result in irreparable damage to the lines (blockage of reference air duct).

NOTE: Do not interchange the oxygen sensor ahead of catalytic converter with the sensor behind the catalytic converter as this will result in implausible fault entries.

Diagnostic conditions
- Exhaust temperature between 350 °C (662 °F) and 870 °C (1,598 °F)
- Battery positive voltage between 10 V and 16 V
- All 4 oxygen sensors ready for operation
- Test drive for around 20 minutes or short test

Possible fault causes
- Leak in exhaust system between the two oxygen sensors on bank 1
- Oxygen sensor ahead of catalytic converter, bank 1 faulty (old)
- Fault in intake camshaft
- Mechanical fault in valve drive
