P2189Diagnosis information - DME V6 DFI
Lambda control adaptation RKAT, bank 2 - range near idle speed
NOTE:
Diagnosis should indicate a positive deviation (enrichment) of more than 6% of the lambda control adaptation in the range near idle speed (RKAT = 6%). The most frequent causes of faults are leaks (secondary air) between the throttle and intake valves or at the engine ventilation.
Opposed adaptation values in connection with misfires indicate that the timing is out of adjustment.
Diagnostic conditions
- Battery positive voltage between 10 V and 16 V
- Lambda control active
- Engine temperature > 60 °C (140 °F)
- Mass air flow between 40 kg/h and 300 kg/h
- Engine load between 17 % and 73 %
- Engine speed between 1200 rpm and 3000 rpm
Possible fault causes
- Incorrect main filling signal from hot-film mass air flow sensor (setpoint voltage with stopped engine and ignition on = 0.9 ... 1.1 V)
- Intake system leak
- Leak in exhaust system
- Fuel pressure too low
- Mechanical fault of fuel injector(s)
- Fuel pump delivery too low
- Crankcase ventilation leak
- Oil filler cap leaking
- Mechanical fault of tank vent (stuck open)
- Tank vent driver fault
