Preliminary work

1. Remove complete heater. -> 822019 Removing and installing complete heater - section on "Removing" 822019 Removing and installing complete heater

Removing water tubes for auxiliary heating - water tube from second heat exchanger to heater





Installation position of water tube from second heat exchanger to heater

1. Remove water tube holder.
1.1. Screw off both fastening nuts -1-.
1.2. Unscrew fastening screw -2-.
1.3. Remove water tube holder -3- ( -arrow- ).

2. Loosen water tube at the circulating pump.
2.1. Undo spring band clamp using assembly pliers for spring band clamps, Cayenne hose connections NR.72-1 ( -arrows A- ) and push down off the connection -arrow B-.
2.2. Pull water tube off the circulating pump -arrow C-.

3. Loosen water tube at the heater.
3.1. Undo spring band clamp using assembly pliers for spring band clamps, Cayenne hose connections NR.72-1 ( -arrows A- ) and push down off the adapter -arrow B-.
3.2. Pull water tube off heater -arrow C- and remove water tube.

Installing water tubes for auxiliary heating - water tube from second heat exchanger to heater

1. Secure water tube at the heater.

Information

- Before connecting the water hoses, apply suitable rubber lubricant to the flanges.

1.1. Place water tube in installation position and slide onto the heater -arrow A-.
1.2. Slide spring band clamp onto the connection using the assembly pliers for spring band clamps, Cayenne hose connections NR.72-1 ( -arrow B- ) and align with the markings.
1.3. Slacken spring band clamp -arrows C- and secure the hose.

2. Secure water tube at the circulating pump.

Information

- Before connecting the water hoses, apply suitable rubber lubricant to the flanges.

2.1. Place water tube in installation position and slide onto the circulating pump -arrow A-.
2.2. Slide spring band clamp onto the connection using the assembly pliers for spring band clamps, Cayenne hose connections NR.72-1 ( -arrow B- ) and align with the markings.
2.3. Slacken spring band clamp -arrows C- and secure the hoses.

Information

Make sure the water tube holder is installed at the correct position.

The exhaust pipe runs behind the water tube holder.

3. Install water tube holder.
3.1. Position water tube holder -3- ( -arrow- ).
3.2. Tighten fastening screw -2-. => Tightening torque: 4.5 Nm (3.5 ftlb.)
3.3. Tighten fastening nuts -1-. => Tightening torque: 6 Nm (4.5 ftlb.)
