Preliminary work for control unit for memory seat adjustment

1. If a new control unit has to be installed, the values and codings must be read out using the 2nd generation PIWIS Tester 9818 prior to removing the "old" control unit for memory seat adjustment.

NOTICE:
Voltage peaks
- Risk of damage to load or to the control unit

- Remove the ignition key and switch off load before disconnecting or removing load.







1. Move front seat back and up as far as possible.







2. Unscrew the two fastening screws -1- for the control unit -arrow A- and cut the tie-wrap -2- .
3. Pull the control unit forwards slightly -arrow B- .







4. Release the electric plug connections -3, 4, 5- and unplug them.
5. Remove the control unit.

Installing control unit for memory seat adjustment







1. Place the electric plug connection -3, 4, 5- in position and plug it in.







2. Place the control unit in position -arrow C- and secure the line to the holder using a new tie-wrap -2- .
3. Tighten the fastening screws -1- ( -arrow D- ).
4. Move the seat to the desired position.

Subsequent work

1. If the control unit was replaced, the control unit must be adapted to the vehicle using the 2nd generation PIWIS Tester 9818.
