Removing And Installing Padding For Front Middle Backrest

Installation position of padding for front middle backrest







Preliminary work

INFORMATION: The front seat only has to be removed and installed on vehicles with heated and/or air-conditioned seats.

1. Remove front seat.

Removing padding for front middle backrest







1. Use a plastic wedge to lift up and detach the cover under the headrest -arrow- .







2. Guide the cover through towards the front under the headrest -arrows- .







3. Lift up the backrest cushion -arrows- .







4. Guide the backrest cushion out of the guide in the side bolsters on both sides -arrow- .







5. Only for seats with air conditioning.
Swivel the backrest cushion forward slightly and release the air-guide cowl for seat ventilation on both sides -A- and remove it -B- .







6. Swivel the backrest cushion forward onto the seat surface -arrow- and set it down.







7. Loosen the two restraining straps on the rear of the seat from underneath -arrows- .







8. Use a plastic wedge to detach the cover from the bottom backrest frame -arrows- .
9. Only for heated seats.
Disconnect the plug connections for heated seats.







10. Move backrest cushion and cover forward off the seat and remove them -arrows- .
11. When replacing padding for middle backrest.
Remove cover for middle backrest.

Installing padding for front middle backrest
- When replacing padding for middle backrest.
Install cover for middle backrest.
- Only for heated seats.
Connect the plug connections for heated seats.







1. Place the backrest cushion on the seat surface and guide the cover through to the rear -arrows- .







2. Use a plastic wedge to fit the cover on the bottom backrest frame -arrows- .







3. Engage the two restraining straps on the rear of the seat from underneath -arrows- .







4. Swivel the backrest cushion to the rear -arrow- .







5. Only for seats with air conditioning.
Guide in -B- and lock -A- the air-guide cowl for seat ventilation on both sides.







6. Guide the backrest cushion into the guide in the side bolsters on both sides -arrow- .







7. Guide the backrest cushion down and into position -arrow- .







8. Guide the cover towards the rear under the headrest -arrows- .







9. Engage the cover under the headrest -arrow- .

Subsequent work

INFORMATION: The front seat only has to be removed and installed on vehicles with heated and/or air-conditioned seats.
