Removing And Installing Locking Mechanism For Rear Backrest

Technical values







Preliminary work

1. Remove padding for rear backrest.
2. Remove lock for rear-seat backrest.

Removing locking mechanism for rear backrest







1. Remove foam part -arrow A- of headrest.







2. Unclip locking lug of headrest support -1- and remove it -arrow B- .







3. Unscrew fastening screw on retaining bracket for lock.
4. Unscrew fastening screws on the locking mechanism at the front.







5. Turn the backrest frame and unscrew the two fastening screws on the rear side.







6. Release the cable holder and remove it by pulling it upwards through the backrest frame.
7. Remove complete locking mechanism for rear backrest.

Installing locking mechanism for rear backrest

1. Position locking mechanism for rear backrest.







2. Insert the cable holder through the backrest frame and engage it in the guide.
3. Screw in rear fastening screws.








4. Screw in front fastening screws.
5. Tighten the fastening screws to the specified tightening torque.
- Tightening torque: 3.2 Nm (2 ftlb.)







6. Screw in fastening screw on retaining bracket for lock and tighten to the specified tightening torque.
- Tightening torque: 5 Nm (3.5 ftlb.)

7. Slide in headrest support -1- ( -arrow A- ) and clip in the locking lug.







8. Position the foam part -arrow B- .

Subsequent work

1. Install lock for rear-seat backrest.
2. Install padding for rear backrest.
