Fuel Pump Control Unit: Service and Repair

Preliminary work

Preliminary work for control unit for fuel pump

1. Remove exhaust system. -> 260119 Removing and installing exhaust system - section on "Removing" Service and Repair.
2. Remove centre heat protection panel. Ensure that the heat protection panel is not deformed.

Voltage peaks

- Risk of damage to load or to the control unit

-> Remove the ignition key and switch off load before disconnecting or removing load.





Installation position

1. Unscrew the two fastening nuts -1- used to secure the holder for the fuel pump control unit on the heel plate.

2. Lift the fuel pump control unit and remove it from the mounting -inset-.
3. Release electric plug connection -a- and remove the fuel pump control unit.

Installing control unit for fuel pump

1. Connect electric plug connection to the fuel pump control unit until the connector engages securely.
2. Push the fuel pump control unit onto the mounting -inset- and secure with the two fastening nuts -1-. => Tightening torque: 2.5 Nm (2 ftlb.)

1. Install centre heat protection panel. Ensure that the heat protection panel is not deformed.
