Technical values





Preliminary work

1. Remove front apron, -> 631519 Removing and installing front apron - section on "Removing" .
2. Disconnect plug connection for pedestrian safety sensors, -> 696719 Sensor for pedestrian safety - section on "Removing" 696719 Sensor for pedestrian safety

Removing pedestrian protection

1. Unscrew fastening screws -2-.

2. Remove pedestrian protection strip -1-.

Removing front apron holder

Information

- Instead of the pedestrian protection strip, a holder is fitted on vehicles without the corresponding I-number.

1. Unscrew fastening screws -4-.

Installing pedestrian protection

NOTICE

Different tightening torque for screwing self-tapping screws into a new or existing, old thread.

- Incorrectly screwed joints
- Risk of damage to screw thread

-> Observe different tightening torques.
-> When screwing screws into an existing, old thread, first screw the screws in a few turns by hand, then screw them in fully using a tool.

1. Position pedestrian protection strip -1-.
2. Screw in fastening screws -2- and tighten to the specified tightening torque => Tightening torque: 13 Nm (9.5 ftlb.)+1 Nm (+0.5 ftlb.)-2 Nm (-1.5 ftlb.) => Tightening torque: 9.7 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)+1 Nm (+0.5 ftlb.)-1.5 Nm (-1 ftlb.0.
