Removing and installing selector support
Preliminary work for selector support
1. Remove selector knob.
2. Remove center console.

1. Remove insulating material on selector support.

2. Press locking cable off selector lever on transmission using disassembly tool Nr.21.

3. Press pendulum joint on locking cable upwards and pull to the rear and out of the support bracket.

4. Disengage and pull off cable plug on selector support.

5. Remove fastening screws for selector support and remove selector support.

Disassembling selector support
Information
A new bottom part of the selector support must be used after disassembling the selector support as the fastening screws are screwed into the housing itself.
1. Unscrew fastening screws for top part of selector support.

2. Remove top part of selector support and detach driving pin from end of operating cable -arrow-.

3. Remove locking cable tab washer.

4. Remove locking cable.
Installing selector support

1. Insert locking cable into bottom part of selector support.
2. Install tab washer for operating cable.

3. Place selector support onto new bottom part of selector support. At the same time, insert driver into end of operating cable -arrow-.

Information
A new bottom part of the selector support must be used after disassembling the selector support as the fastening screws are screwed into the housing itself.
4. Screw in fastening screws -arrows- for selector support.

5. Loosen adjusting screw -arrow- in selector support by a maximum of one turn.

Installing selector support
1. Move selector lever on the transmission to position P, the highest position.

2. Insert selector support with locking cable through the opening in the tunnel.
3. Push pendulum joint on locking cable into support bracket on transmission in direction of travel.

4. Press locking cable onto ball head on transmission.

5. Screw in fastening screws -1- for securing selector support to body. -> Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)

6. Move selector support to position P, all the way to the front.
Information
When tightening, the fastening screw must not be pushed in the longitudinal direction.
7. Tighten adjusting screw -arrow- for locking cable in selector support. -> Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)

Subsequent work for selector support
1. Install center console.
2. Adjust locking cable.
3. Install selector knob.
