Removing and installing hydraulic control unit
Preliminary work for hydraulic control unit
1. Move selector lever to position P.
2. Remove the ATF pan.

1. Disconnect connector on the transmission by turning it 1/4 turn -1- to the left and pull it off -2-. Fit a suitable plastic cap to protect the connector on the transmission side.

2. Pull off safety clip on the connector -1- and press the connector into the transmission housing.

3. Remove cable plugs -1, 2-.

4. Unscrew fastening screws -17 and 11- on the hydraulic control unit.

5. Screw two M6 x 95 mm screws -> Part No. 900.385.126.01 approx. 10 mm into screw holes 17 and 11.
6. Unscrew the remaining screws in reverse order from 16 to 1 and position the hydraulic control unit on the two long screws.

7. Remove hydraulic control unit and wire harness.
Installing hydraulic control unit
Information
Before installing the electrohydraulic control unit, check the sealing surfaces of the control unit and the sealing surfaces of the transmission for damage and soiling. Damaged or soiled parts must not be used. Ensure absolute cleanliness when installing the electrohydraulic control unit.
1. Press oil pump adapter -right arrows- into the transmission.

2. Fix the hydraulic control unit in place by screwing two M6 x 95 mm screws -> Part No. 900.385.126.01 approx. 10 mm into screw holes 17 and 11.

3. The hydraulic control unit must be fitted at the correct position on the connection piece for the oil pump adapter -arrows- and must be flush in the transmission housing.

4. Tighten fastening screws on the hydraulic control unit cross-wise and hand-tight.
5. Tighten the hydraulic control unit screws in the specified sequence. -> Tightening torque: 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.)

6. Fit cable plugs -1, 2-.

7. Press the wire harness connector -1- into the housing and fit the safety clip.

8. Secure connector on the transmission by turning it 1/4 turn to the right.

Subsequent work for hydraulic control unit
WARNING
Hot fluid
* Danger of scalding
-> Let the fluid cool down.
-> Wear personal protective gear.
1. Install ATF pan.
Information
Use only oil approved by Porsche.
2. Open the oil inspection plug -arrow- and fill in oil using manual metering pump WE 1372 until oil overflows.

3. Screw in oil inspection plug.

4. Start the engine.
* Press the brake pedal
* Shift the gear lever slowly through P-R-N-D three times
5. Read out the ATF temperature using PIWIS Tester II 9818 until the temperature is 60 degrees C.

5.2. Submenu: Actual values/Input signals
5.3. Submenu: CAN output signals for transmission sump temperature
WARNING
The vehicle can move automatically while you are calibrating the transmission control unit (PDK).
* The raised vehicle can fall from the lifting platform, for example.
* Danger of crushing.
* Risk of damage to or from objects.
-> During calibration, the brake pedal must be blocked using a commercially available brake pedal lock.
-> The handbrake must be engaged.
-> The vehicle must not be raised and must be standing on its wheels.
Information
The complete calibration process is only necessary if the hydraulic control unit was replaced.
6. Perform PDK calibration (complete process) using PIWIS Tester II 9818.
Menu structure:
6.1. Select PDK (Porsche Double Clutch) control unit
6.2. Submenu: Maintenance/repairs
6.3. Read out the PDK fault memory and check whether faults are present.
6.4. If faults are present, correct the faults according to Guided Fault Finding instructions.
6.5. Erase the fault memory, then switch the ignition off and on again.
6.6. Submenu: Calibration (complete process)
7. The Tester displays the message Calibration successful. Press >>. Follow the instructions on the Tester.
7.1. Press F8 and >> to erase the PDKit fault memory.
7.2. Select Calibration post preparation and press <<
8. Select the Overview menu for an overview of all control units and press F7. Then select Read out all fault memories and erase if required and press >> to erase all fault memories.
9. Switch off the engine.
10. The ATF must cool down to 40 degrees C for the final oil check.
11. Check ATF.
12. Perform a test drive. Read out the fault memory for all control units after the test drive.
