Preliminary work
1. Remove additional seal.
Removing rear window guide
INFORMATION: The moulding will be damaged when the top clips are removed.
1. Drill out fastening rivets -1- at the top and remove the remaining pieces of the rivets.
2. Pull seal on moulding off the B-pillar cover at the rear.
3. Pull front window guide out of the B-pillar cover.
4. Remove the side window.
4.1. Unclip retaining clips on moulding -A- .
4.2. Pull window guide out of the side window -B- .
4.3. Unscrew fastening screws -2- .
4.4. Lift up the moulding -A- .
4.5. Swivel out the side window -B- .
4.6. Remove guide pin -C- and side window.
5. Drill out fastening rivets -1- on moulding and remove the remaining pieces of the rivets.
6. Remove the moulding.
Installing rear window guide
INFORMATION: Do not clip in the clips on the new moulding until you have finished all work in the door sub-frame area.
1. Position the new moulding on the door sub-frame.
1.1. Guide rubber seal on moulding into the B-pillar cover.
1.2. Make sure that the front edge of the moulding is flush with the front edge of the B-pillar cover.
2. Secure the moulding at the top with rivets using a hand riveting tool Nr.124-1 Pos.1.
3. Secure the moulding at the rear with rivets using a hand riveting tool Nr.124-1 Pos.1.
4. Affix seal to the front edge of the B-pillar cover.
5. Pull new window guide into the B-pillar cover from below.
6. Pull window guide -3- into the side window -4- .
7. Fit the side window.
7.1. Lift up the moulding -A- .
7.2. Insert guide pin for side window -B- .
7.3. Swivel in side window -C- .
8. Press middle section of window guide into the moulding -A- .
8.1. Press middle section of window guide into the corners -B- .
8.2. Make sure that the window guide is flush at both corners.
9. Loosely screw in fastening screws -2- for the side window so that the side window can still be moved.
10. Adjust rear side window.
11. Clip in moulding at the bottom.
12. Clip in fixing clip for moulding.
Adjusting rear side window
1. Adjust side window.
1.1. Fit and close the door window.
1.2. Position door window parallel to the B-pillar trim -A- .
1.3. Position side window parallel to the door window -B- .
1.4. Make sure that the B-pillar trim is parallel to the side window.
1.5. Check that the door window can move freely -C- .
1.6. Remove door window glass.
1.7. Tighten fastening screws -2- for the side window
- Tightening torque: 3.5 Nm (2.5 ftlb.)+10°.
Subsequent work
1. Install additional seal for rear window frame.
