Preliminary work

1. Remove additional window frame seal. -> 576655 Replacing additional window frame seal - section on "Replacing" 576655 Replacing Additional Window Frame Seal

Removing B-pillar cover





Installation position of B-pillar cover

1. Drill out five blind rivets -1- on the roof moulding.

2. Guide roof moulding up and off.
3. Fold over the seal on the top of the door sub-frame and remove the remaining pieces of the rivets.
4. Carefully lift up the roof moulding and pull the window guide out of the B-pillar cover.

5. Mark installation position of B-pillar cover.

5.1. Apply markings -3- around the heads of the fastening screws -2-.
5.2. Apply markings -3- at the top, underneath the roof moulding.
6. Unscrew fastening screws -2- for the B-pillar cover.

7. Remove the remaining parts of the rivets -1-.
8. Guide B-pillar cover up and remove it.

Installing B-pillar cover

1. Pull window guide approximately half-way into the B-pillar cover.

2. Push in B-pillar cover from the top and align it according to the marking.

3. Screw in fastening screws -2- and tighten to the specified torque => Tightening torque: 3.5 Nm (2 ftlb.)+10°.

4. Push window guide fully into the B-pillar cover.

5. Place roof moulding in installation position.

6. Check that the rubber seal is fitted correctly in the B-pillar cover.
7. Secure roof moulding with five blind rivets -1-.

8. Affix detached areas of the window guide using double-sided adhesive tape (Part No. 000 043 206 59).

1. Adjust front door window (parallel positioning). -> 644015 Adjusting front door window - section on "Adjusting" Adjustments
2. Install additional seal. -> 576655 Replacing additional window frame seal - section on "Replacing" 576655 Replacing Additional Window Frame Seal
