Preliminary work for AWS control unit

1. If a new control unit has to be installed, the values and codings must be read out using the 2nd generation PIWIS Tester 9818 prior to removing the "old" AWS control unit.
2. Disconnect the battery
3. Remove right front seat.
4. Remove memory seat adjustment control unit.

Removing AWS control unit












1. Unscrew the two fastening screws -1- for the AWS control unit at the seat console.
2. Lift the electric connector at the AWS control unit -a- and unplug it.
3. Take off the AWS control unit.

Installing AWS control unit







1. Push electric connector onto AWS control unit until it is felt to engage.
2. Position AWS control unit on the holder and screw it down with the two fastening screws -1- .

Subsequent work

Subsequent work for AWS control unit

1. Install memory seat adjustment control unit.
2. Install right front seat.
3. Connect the battery and carry out work instructions after disconnecting the battery.
4. If the AWS control unit was replaced, the new AWS control unit must be taught and calibrated.
