Information

If the rear left ABS wire harness has to be removed and installed or replaced on a vehicle with PDCC, the valve block for the PDCC system must be removed.-> 430419 Removing and installing rear-axle valve block (PDCC) - section "Removing" 430419 Removing and installing rear-axle valve block (PDCC)

1. Disconnect electric plug connection for main wire harness.
1.1. Release and pull off electric plug connection for main wire harness -1- ( -arrow A- ).
1.2. Pull intermediate lock out of the bracket -arrow B-.
1.3. Pull ABS wire harness out of the bracket -arrow C-.

2. Disconnect electric plug connection for brake pad wear indicator.
2.1. Release and pull off electric plug connection for brake pad wear indicator -1- ( -arrow A- ).
2.2. Turn electric plug connection 90° and remove it from the holder -arrow B-.

3. Disconnect electric plug connection for ABS sensor.
3.1. Release and pull off electric plug connection -1- on ABS sensor -arrow A-.
3.2. Pull the line out of the holder -arrow B-.
3.3. Remove ABS line.

1. Disconnect electric plug connection for main wire harness.
1.1. Unclip electric plug connection for main wire harness -1- from the bracket -arrow A-.





Unclipping main wire harness

1.2. Remove electric plug connection for main wire harness from the bracket -arrow B-.
1.3. Release and pull off electric plug connection for main wire harness.
1.4. Unclip retaining clips for ABS wire harness.
1.5. Remove ABS wire harness on the wheel carrier holder from the bracket.
2. Disconnect electric plug connection for rotation angle sensor.
2.1. Pull off rubber cover -1- ( -arrow A- ).

2.2. Release and pull off electric plug connection for rotation angle sensor -2- ( -arrow B- ).
3. Disconnect electric plug connection for ABS sensor.
3.1. Release and pull off electric plug connection on ABS sensor -1- ( -arrow A- ).

3.2. Pull intermediate lock -2- out of the holder -arrow B-.
4. Disconnect electric plug connection for brake pad wear indicator.
4.1. Release and pull off electric plug connection for brake pad wear indicator -1- ( -arrow A- ).

4.2. Turn electric plug connection 90° and remove it from the holder -arrow B-.
4.3. Take line for brake pad wear indicator out of the holder -arrow C-.
5. Disconnect electric plug connection for handbrake actuation.
5.1. Release and pull off electric plug connection for handbrake actuation -1- ( -arrow- ).

Installing wire harness for ABS (vehicle with PDCC)

Installing front ABS wire harness (vehicle with PDCC)

1. Plug in electric plug connection for ABS sensor.
1.1. Plug in electric plug connection for the ABS sensor -1- until it engages securely -arrow A-.
1.2. Press line into the bracket -arrow B-.

2. Plug in electric plug connection for brake pad wear indicator.
2.1. Turn electric plug connection 90° and lock it in the holder -arrow B-.
2.2. Plug in electric plug connection for brake pad wear indicator -1- until it engages securely -arrow A-.

3. Plug in electric plug connection for main wire harness.
3.1. Plug in electric plug connection for main wire harness -1- until it engages securely -arrow A-.
3.2. Press intermediate lock into the bracket -arrow B-.
3.3. Press ABS wire harness into the bracket -arrow C-.

Installing rear ABS wire harness (vehicle with PDCC)

1. Plug in electric plug connection for handbrake actuation.
1.1. Plug in electric plug connection for handbrake actuation -1- until it engages securely -arrow-.

2. Plug in electric plug connection for brake pad wear indicator.
2.1. Press line for brake pad wear indicator into the holder -arrow C-.
2.2. Turn electric plug connection 90° and lock it in the holder -arrow B-.
2.3. Plug in electric plug connection for brake pad wear indicator -1- until it engages securely -arrow A-.

3. Plug in electric plug connection for ABS sensor.
3.1. Press intermediate lock -1- into the holder -arrow A-.
3.2. Plug in electric plug connection for the ABS sensor -2- until it engages securely -arrow B-.

4. Plug in electric plug connection for rotation angle sensor.
4.1. Plug in electric plug connection for rotation angle sensor -1- until it engages securely -arrow A-.
4.2. Slide on rubber cover -2- ( -arrow B- ).

5. Plug in electric plug connection for main wire harness.
5.1. Press plug connection for main wire harness and ABS wire harness on the wheel carrier holder into the bracket.
5.2. Clip in retaining clips for main wire harness.
5.3. Plug in electric plug connection -2- until it engages securely.
5.4. Clip electric plug connection -2- into the bracket -1- ( -arrow- ).

Subsequent work

Subsequent work (vehicle with PDCC)

1. Install rear-axle valve block (PDCC) if necessary. -> 430419 Removing and installing rear-axle valve block (PDCC) - section on "Installing" 430419 Removing and installing rear-axle valve block (PDCC).
2. Install the relevant wheel. -> 440519 Removing and installing wheel - section on "Installing" Removal and Replacement
3. Read out and erase the fault memory using PIWIS Tester II 9818.
