Replacing sealing ring for selector shaft





Preliminary work for sealing ring for selector shaft

1. Remove front underbody panelling.
2. Support the transmission with a transmission jack and mounting plate. When doing this, place a suitable piece of wood underneath so that the weight is distributed evenly on the ATF pan.

3. Remove transmission support.

1. Press locking cable off selector lever on transmission using disassembly tool Nr.21.

2. Tap out selector-lever cotter pin on the transmission.

Information
Do not damage the sealing face when removing the sealing ring.

3. Carefully remove the sealing ring with a screwdriver.

Installing sealing ring for selector shaft

1. Press the new sealing ring into the transmission housing using pressure piece 9834.

2. Tap in selector-lever cotter pin on the transmission.

3. Press the operating cable onto the selector lever on the transmission and lock it.

Subsequent work for sealing ring for selector shaft

1. Fit transmission support.
2. Remove transmission jack.
