Symptom

Creaking noises can be caused by relative movements between the rear side trim panel and the collar on the rear seat backrest locking pin.

Causes and remedial action
Cause
The collar on the rear seat backrest locking pin is rubbing against the rear side trim panel (leather) and causes creaking noises.

Remedial action
In the event of a complaint, clean the surface of the collar where it comes into contact with the side trim panel and grease with Krytox.

Reworking rear side trim panel

1. Release the rear backrest and fold it forward.
2. Unscrew rear seat backrest locking pin -1- and remove the collar -2- ( -arrow- ).

3. Clean the surface where the collar comes into contact with the side trim panel.

4. Grease the surface of the collar where it comes into contact with the side trim panel with Krytox ( => Figure 2 ).
5. Insert rear seat backrest locking pin -1- together with the collar -2- ( -arrow- ) and tighten securely. => Tightening torque: 35 Nm (26 ftlb.)+2 Nm (+1.5 ftlb.)-3 Nm (-2 ftlb.)

6. Fold rear backrest up and lock it.
