Information
- Set gap dimensions on cover and accessories in accordance with the gap specifications.
- Given a clearance in the opening that is too large or too small, the movable body or the accessories must be centered accordingly.
- Ensure that the gaps do not run in a wedge-shaped fashion or do not narrow at local points.
- The given values are guidelines which should be observed as far as possible.
- The guidelines apply to repair and assembly work.
- Use star gauges to measure the gap dimensions. Star gauges for body gap dimensions NR.127-1

Detaching cover hinge
2.1. Loosen fastening nuts -2- slightly at the two cover hinges -1-.
2.2. Move the rear window cover at the cover hinges to adjust the contours with respect to the sunroof cover and the rear centre panel. => 5000IN Diagram - body gap dimensions

2.3. Tighten fastening nuts -2- for cover hinge at roof assembly frame. => Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)

3.1. Loosen fastening screws -2- and fastening nut -3- slightly on both sides of the rear window cover -1-.
3.2. Move the rear window cover at the cover hinges to adjust the contours with respect to the sunroof cover, roof joint cover strip and the rear centre panel. => 5000IN Diagram - body gap dimensions
3.3. Set -arrows A- the upper edge of the hinge -4- parallel to the fastening screws -2-. Tighten fastening screws -2- and fastening nut -3-. => Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.) => Tightening torque: 4 Nm (3.0 ftlb.) => Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)
Information
- The side adjusting elements of the rear lid must be adjusted so that there is a slight preload when the rear lid is closed completely.
- The preload must be equal on the left and right.
4. Check buffer adjustment at the rear window cover.

4.1. Check the excess force at the buffer -1- by hand from the inside through the rear window cover -2-. If the buffer is able to move -1- , then the excess force must be corrected by unscrewing the buffer (max. 1 turn).

- It must not be possible to pull out the paper strip along the trim frame when the rear window cover is closed. If the paper strip can be pulled out, then the excess force at the buffer must be corrected. Adjust the closing aid if necessary.
4.2. Check the decoupling between the rear window cover and the rear window seal all around using a paper strip.

Information
The position of the closing aid affects the ejection height and the chafing noises at the rear window cover. After opening the cover, the ejection height should be -X= 16 mm-.

5. Adjust closing aid if necessary.

5.1. Loosen fastening screws -1- on the closing aid -2-.
5.2. Adjust closing aid -2- so that there is pre-tension with respect to the upper part of lid lock or rear window cover.
5.3. Coat fastening screw -1- with medium-strength Loctite 270 and tighten it. => Tightening torque: 9.5 Nm (7 ftlb.)
