Diagnostic information - DME (DFI)

Knock sensor, bank 2

NOTE:
- The fault is detected if the signal of the knock sensor does NOT change.
- If the fault is stored, the ignition timing is retarded for all cylinders in the >knock-control active < range.
- Knock control adaptation is idle.

Diagnostic conditions
- Short test

or
- Engine temperature > 50 °C (122 °F)
- Time after engine starts > 10 seconds
- Engine speed > 1,000 rpm
- Medium to high load (knock control active)

Possible fault causes
- Open circuit in line, crimping fault, or loose contact of the sensor and/or ground line
- Short circuit to ground
- Corrosion or loose contact of plug connection
- Knock sensor loose
- Knock sensor faulty
