Seat Heating Topology
Seat Heating System Topology
Two-stage seat heating (heating-up phase duration depends on the passenger compartment temperature):
- Stage 1 runs for a maximum of 11 minutes
- Stage 2 runs for a maximum of 9.2 minutes
This is followed by the continuous heating phase with reduced heating output. A temperature sensor integrated in the heating element of the seat cushion is taken into account for control purposes (current flows through the heating pad depending on the resistance or NTC change).
Control or control unit communication for the seat heating system (according to slide):
- Control panel > Vehicle electrical system control unit > Heating elements
Heating elements for each seat:
- Heating elements for seat cushion and side bolsters (left/right)
- Heating element for backrest
- Heating elements for backrest side bolsters (left/right)
The vehicle electrical system control unit switches off the seat heating at a passenger compartment temperature of > 104 °F. (40 °C.) (pushbutton/heating status remains stored in the vehicle electrical system control unit).
