Preliminary work
1. Remove air cleaner housing.

-> Secure components to prevent them from falling down.
Information
- Active engine mountings (hydraulic mounts) are fitted as standard on the new 2nd generation 997 Turbo.

Information
- It may only be supported over a large area at the oil pan.
- Localised loading is not permitted.
1. Support the engine in installation position at the oil pan using the hydraulic jack HH2 WE 1033 and transmission jack plate of transmission jack V.A.G 1383 A WE 1082.
2. Loosen and unscrew M12 collar nut (internal Torx, screw insert T55) -1- on the engine carrier.

3. Remove engine mounting.
3.1. Release and pull off cable plug -3-.
3.2. Unscrew three external Torx screws (E12, M8 x 75) -2-.

4. Guide engine mounting up out of the engine carrier.
5. Check mounting carefully for damage (dents, cracks at metal insert, threaded bolt) or leaks (emerging hydraulic fluid).
5.1. Replace component if in doubt.
Installing engine mounting

- Risk of squashing or crushing
-> Secure components to prevent them from falling down.
1. Fit the engine mounting on the engine carrier by guiding the threaded bolt through the mounting eyelet on the engine carrier.
2. Secure the engine mounting -1-.
2.1. Fit and tighten three external Torx screws (E12, M8 x 75) -2-.
=> Tightening torque: 23 Nm (17 ftlb.)
2.2. Connect cable plug -3-.

3. Fit M12 collar nut (internal Torx, screw insert T55) on the threaded bolt for the engine mounting and tighten it.
=> Tightening torque: 85 Nm (63 ftlb.)
4. Lower jack together with transmission jack plate and push out of work area.
Subsequent work
1. Install air cleaner housing.
