Information
Specifications for wrench sizes (a/f specifications) for screw heads are described as follows:
- Torx screws: (E.) for external Torx, (T.) for internal Torx.
- Hexagon-head bolts (internal and external hexagon): Wrench size (a/f)
1. Loosen intake air line at the turbocharger.
1.1. Unscrew two external Torx screws (E10, M6 x 30) -2- , remove cover -1- and pull off the cable plug on the electronic adjuster.
Electronic adjuster cover on cylinder bank 1-3
1.2. Pull intake air line out of the turbocharger. Check O-ring and replace it if necessary.
2. Unscrew two fastening screws (E10, M6 x 12) -1-.
Tool recommendation: Ratchet wrench, a/f 8 with E10 insert from tool set insert for torque wrench 9792
2.1. Unclip electric line -2- for exhaust temperature sensor at the heat shield.

Installing heat shield
Installing heat shield on cylinder bank 1-3
1. Slide heat shield between the turbocharger and cylinder head and secure with two fastening screws (E10, M6 x 12) -1-.
Tool recommendation: Ratchet wrench, a/f 8 with E10 insert from tool set insert for torque wrench 9792
1.1. Tighten the screws. To do this, insert the E10 insert into the torque wrench.
=> Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)
2. Clip in electric line -2- for exhaust temperature sensor at the heat shield.
