Shift Indicator

Shift Indicator

A shift indicator (A) is provided in the instrument cluster for the first time in the new 911 Turbo with manual transmission in order to reduce fuel consumption.

Similar to the current 911 Carrera models, upshift indication occurs depending on the selected gear, engine rpm and accelerator-pedal position. Illumination of this indicator prompts the driver to shift to the next-higher gear in order to reduce fuel consumption. The driver is prompted to perform an upshift only if the previously selected speed and acceleration can be continued in the next-higher gear. The actual display is shown in the rev counter in the area of the on-board computer in the form of a triangle to the right of the digital speed display.
