-> Do not place any solid objects under the raised vehicle.
-> Ensure that the lifting platform is prevented from lowering.
-> Remove solid objects before lowering the vehicle.
-> Raise the vehicle only at the take-up points provided.
-> The outer take-up points should be used primarily.

-> Let hot components cool down.
-> Wear personal protective gear.

1. Remove rear apron.
=> 635519 Removing and installing rear apron.
2. Remove charge-air cooler (cylinder bank 1-3).
=> 214319 Removing and installing charge-air cooler.
3. Remove catalytic converter heat shield (cylinder bank 1-3).
=> 635019 Removing and installing rear bumper.
4. Remove heat shield (cylinder bank 1-3).
=> 261219 Removing and installing heat shield - Turbo.

- Torx screws: (E.) for external Torx, (T.) for internal Torx.

- Hexagon-head bolts (internal and external hexagon): Wrench size (a/f)

1. Remove hall sender.
1.1. Release and pull off cable plug -1- on the hall sender -2-.
1.2. Unscrew fastening screw (T30, M6 x 16) -3-.
1.3. Remove the hall sender.
Collect escaping fluids.
1.4. Replace O-ring.

2. Clean sealing faces.

1. Remove hall sender -1-.
1.1. Unscrew fastening screw (T30, M6 x 16) -2-.
1.2. Pull out hall sender together with the cable plug.
Collect escaping fluids.

2. Release and pull off cable plug -1- on the hall sender.
2.1. Replace O-ring.

Information

Specifications for wrench sizes (a/f specifications) for screw heads are described as follows:

- Torx screws: (E.) for external Torx, (T.) for internal Torx.

- Hexagon-head bolts (internal and external hexagon): Wrench size (a/f)

Information

- Replace O-rings.

- Grease O-rings with a light coating of Kluber Syntheso Glep (Part No.: 000.043.204.68).

1. Fit hall sender -2- with a new O-ring and screw in and tighten the fastening screw (T30, M6 x 16) -3-.
=> Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)
1.1. Connect cable plug -1- on the hall sender.

1. Connect cable plug -1- on the hall sender.
