Preliminary work

1. Disconnect the battery.
-> 2X00IN02 Work instructions after disconnecting the battery.
2. Remove pressure pipe.
-> 214119 Removing and installing pressure pipe.
3. Remove air cleaner housing.
-> 242519 Removing and installing air cleaner housing.
4. Lower the engine.
Lower the engine by max. 40 mm.
Support the engine using a jack and retainer plate P 9592.
Loosen and screw off M12 collar nuts on the engine mounting. Carefully lower the engine using the jack.

1. Remove fuel filter.

2. Remove secondary-air pump.

3. Remove oil-filter console.

4. Remove intake-air distributor 1-3.
-> 244620 Removing and installing intake-air distributor.

5. Remove shut-off valve, side 1-3.
5.1. Release hose and pull it off. Unscrew M6 screws -2- and remove shut-off valve -1-.

1. Remove rear apron.

2. Remove charge air cooler on right.

3. Detach air conditioning compressor.
-> 873419 Removing and installing air conditioning compressor.

4. Remove oil filler neck.
-> 171519 Removing and installing oil filler neck.

5. Remove intake-air distributor, side 4-6.
-> 244620 Removing and installing intake-air distributor.

6. Remove shut-off valve, side 4-6.
6.1. Release hose -2- and pull it off. Unscrew screws -3- and remove shut-off valve -1-.

1. Install shut-off valve 1-3. Use a new O-ring.
1.1. Fit shut-off valve -1- with new O-ring and screw in and tighten M6 screws -2-. Connect hose.
=> Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)

2. Install intake-air distributor 1-3.
-> 244620 Removing and installing intake-air distributor.

3. Install oil-filter console.
-> 173319 Removing and installing oil-filter console.

4. Install secondary-air pump.
-> 26651900 Removing and installing secondary-air pump.

5. Install fuel filter.
-> 206019 Removing and installing fine fuel filter.

Installing shut-off valve, side 4-6

1. Install shut-off valve 4-6. Use a new O-ring.
1.1. Fit shut-off valve -1- with new O-ring and screw in and tighten M6 screws -3-. Connect hose -2-.

=> Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)
2. Install intake-air distributor, side 4-6.
-> 244620 Removing and installing intake-air distributor.

3. Install oil filler neck.
-> 171519 Removing and installing oil filler neck.

4. Fit air conditioning compressor.
-> 873419 Removing and installing air conditioning compressor.

5. Install right charge air cooler.
-> 214319 Removing and installing charge air cooler.
6. Install rear apron.
-> 635519 Removing and installing rear apron.

Subsequent work

1. Raise the engine.
Raise engine into installation position with a jack, using retainer plate P 9592 to do this.
Screw in and tighten M12 collar nuts.
=> Tightening torque: 85 Nm (63 ftlb.)
2. Install air cleaner housing.
-> 242519 Removing and installing air cleaner housing.
3. Fit pressure pipe.
-> 214119 Removing and installing pressure pipe.
4. Connect the battery.
-> 2X00IN02 Work instructions after disconnecting the battery.
