Fuel Tank Vent: Service and Repair


WM 202319 Removing and installing tank vent valve - Turbo

Preliminary work

1. Place protective covers on the vehicle to avoid damaging the vehicle.

DANGER

Vehicle can fall down

- Risk of squashing or crushing
- Risk of damage to the vehicle

-> Do not place any solid objects under the raised vehicle.
-> Ensure that the lifting platform is prevented from lowering.
-> Remove solid objects before lowering the vehicle.
-> Raise the vehicle only at the take-up points provided.
-> The outer take-up points should be used primarily.

2. Raise the vehicle.

3. Remove air cleaner housing.

Overview of tank vent valve






Removing tank vent valve

1. Release plug-in coupling -1- on the (centre) intake-air distributor and pull it off by pressing the locking lugs.

2. Release plug-in coupling -2- on the supply line from the carbon canister and pull it off by pressing the locking lugs

3. Disconnect the cable plug -1- and unclip and remove the tank vent valve and lines.

Installing tank vent valve

1. Clip in tank vent valve with lines and plug in and engage cable plug -1-.

2. Connect plug-in coupling -2- of the supply line from the carbon canister.

The plug-in coupling must lock with an audible click.
3. Connect plug-in coupling -1- to the (centre) intake-air distributor.

Subsequent work

1. Install air cleaner housing.

2. Remove protective covers from the vehicle.
