Preliminary work

1. Remove rear apron.
-> 635519 Removing and installing rear apron .
2. Remove rear wheel housing liner.
-> 536919 Removing and installing rear wheel housing liner.
3. Remove charge air cooler.
-> 214319 Removing and installing charge air cooler.
4. Remove air intake trim.
-> 665619 Removing and installing air intake grille.

Removing air guide for charge air cooler

Information

Specifications for wrench sizes (a/f specifications) for screw heads are described as follows:

- Torx screws: (E.) for external Torx, (T.) for internal Torx.

- Hexagon-head bolts (internal and external hexagon): Wrench size (a/f)

1. Removing air guide.
1.1. Unscrew seven tapping screws -arrows- on the air intake.





Air intake for charge air cooler

1.2. Unscrew ten hexagon-head bolts (a/f 10, M6 x 18) -1- and one hexagon nut (a/f 10, M6) -2- in the wheel housing.





Air guide for charge air cooler

1.3. Unscrew one M8 hexagon nut (a/f 13) and unclip the cover -3-.
2. Guide the air guide back out of the wheel housing.
2.1. Swivel the air guide at the back downwards and guide it out of the side panel.
2.2. Make sure not to damage the rubber lip on the air guide at the air intake.

Installing air guide for charge air cooler

1. Guide the air guide through the wheel housing to the air intake and position it.
1.1. Make sure not to damage the rubber lip on the air guide at the air intake.

Information

Specifications for wrench sizes (a/f specifications) for screw heads are described as follows:

- Hexagon-head bolts (internal and external hexagon): Wrench size (a/f)

2. Fit the cover.
2.1. Screw in and tighten ten hexagon-head bolts (a/f 10, M6 x 18) -1- on the air guide in the wheel housing.
=> Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)
2.2. Screw in and tighten one M6 hexagon nut (a/f 10) -2-.
=> Tightening torque: 3 Nm (2 ftlb.)
2.3. Screw in and tighten one M8 hexagon nut (a/f 13).
=> Tightening torque: 23 Nm (17 ftlb.)





Air guide for charge air cooler

3. Screw in and tighten seven tapping screws -arrows- for the air guide on the air intake.
=> Tightening torque: 3 Nm (2 ftlb.)





Air intake for charge air cooler

Subsequent work

1. Install charge air cooler.
-> 214319 Removing and installing charge air cooler.
2. Install wheel housing liner.
-> 536919 Removing and installing rear wheel housing liner.
3. Install air intake trim.
-> 665619 Removing and installing air intake grille.
4. Install the rear apron.
-> 635519 Removing and installing rear apron .
