Preliminary work

DANGER

Vehicle can fall down

- Risk of squashing or crushing
- Risk of damage to the vehicle

-> Do not place any solid objects under the raised vehicle.
-> Ensure that the lifting platform is prevented from lowering.
-> Remove solid objects before lowering the vehicle.
-> Raise the vehicle only at the take-up points provided.
-> The outer take-up points should be used primarily.

1. Raise the vehicle.
-> 4X00IN01 Lifting the vehicle 4X00IN01 Lifting the vehicle.
2. Place protective covers on the vehicle to avoid damaging the vehicle.

WARNING

Hot fluid

- Danger of scalding

-> Let the fluid cool down.
-> Wear personal protective gear.

3. Allow engine to cool down.
4. Remove air cleaner housing.

5. Place coolant collection pan underneath.

Removing coolant temperature sensor

1. Remove crankcase vent line at the oil-filter housing.





Crankcase/vent line connection

1.1. Unscrew external Torx screw (E10, M6 x 20) -1- at the oil-filter housing.
1.2. Release crankcase vent line -2- at the locking ring and pull it off the engine ventilation cover on the cylinder head.
1.3. Pull crankcase vent line -3- out of the oil-filter housing and set it aside.
Place cloths underneath.
1.4. Replace O-rings.
2. Remove coolant temperature sensor.

2.1. Release and disconnect the cable plug -4-.
2.2. Loosen and unscrew coolant temperature sensor -5- using the crow-foot wrench Nr.189-1.
2.3. Replace sealing ring.

Installing coolant temperature sensor

1. Install coolant temperature sensor with a new sealing ring.

1.1. Fit coolant temperature sensor -5- and tighten it using the crow-foot wrench Nr.189-1.
=> Tightening torque: 30 Nm (22 ftlb.)-3 Nm (-2 ftlb.)
1.2. Push on and engage the cable plug -4-.
2. Replace O-rings on the crankcase vent line.
2.1. Grease O-rings with Kluber Syntheso Glep (Porsche Part No. 000.043.204.68) and fit them.
3. Install crankcase vent line at the oil-filter housing.





Crankcase/vent line connection

3.1. Connect crankcase vent line -2-. The plug-in coupling must lock with an audible click.
3.2. Guide the crankcase vent line -3- into the oil-filter housing.
3.3. Fit and tighten external Torx screw (M6 x 20) -1- on the vent line at the oil-filter housing.
=> Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)

Subsequent work

1. Install air cleaner housing.

2. Let the engine run until warm and visually check the temperature sensor for leaks.
3. Check the engine coolant level and add coolant if necessary.

4. Remove protective covers from the vehicle.
