Preliminary work

1. Remove transmission. -> 373419 Removing and installing Porsche Double Clutch (PDK) - section on "Removing" 373419 Removing and installing Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK)

Removing radial shaft seal on Porsche Double Clutch (PDK)

Information

Drill depth of max. 4 mm to protect the bearing inside.

1. Drill two holes with a diameter of 2.5 mm in the radial shaft seal -1-.
Offset bores by 180°.

2. Screw in tapping screws, approx. 4 mm x 20 mm.
3. Pull off radial shaft seal -1- using slide hammer kit Nr.168.

Installing radial shaft seal on Porsche Double Clutch (PDK)

1. Assembly fixture 9829 must be positioned for installation.





Press-in tool for radial shaft seal

1.1. Insert screw -5-.
1.2. Slide on the sleeve -4- and grease it slightly.
1.3. Slide radial shaft seal over the sleeve -4-.
1.4. Insert outer guide sleeve -3-.
1.5. Insert inner guide sleeve -2-.
1.6. Screw on nut -1-.

Information

The nut -1- on the assembly fixture 9829 must remain tightened for approx. 1 minute to allow the seal to settle.

2. Pull in the radial shaft seal using special tool 9829.
3. Assembly fixture 9829 must now be removed.
3.1. Counter the screw -5- , a/f 11.
3.2. Loosen nut -1- and screw it down.
3.3. Assembly fixture 9829 must be removed.
4. Check that the radial shaft seal is seated correctly.
The radial shaft seal must be flush with the clutch cover.

Subsequent work

1. Install transmission. -> 373419 Removing and installing Porsche Double Clutch (PDK) - section on "Installing" 373419 Removing and installing Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK)
