Clutch: Description and Operation
Clutch/Clutch Actuation
The whole clutch assembly was revamped due to the higher engine torque that has to be transmitted. The spring assembly of the dual-mass flywheel was reinforced and the engagement force of the clutch was increased. The hydraulic clutch actuation system compensates for the higher engagement force with no change in the force required to operate the clutch pedal. The hydraulic assistance for clutch actuation not only ensures low pedal forces in the new 911 Turbo, but also constant pedal forces for the entire life of the clutch.
