Rear Window Heating Topology







Defrosting of the exterior mirrors is activated by the door control units in parallel to the rear window.

Control process for rear window/exterior mirror defrosting (according to slide):

- Control panel > Vehicle electrical system control unit > Heated rear window relay
- Control panel > Vehicle electrical system control unit > Door control unit > Exterior mirror heating element

The heating time for the heated rear window is a maximum of 15 minutes. The heating time is only 10 seconds if the outside temperature is > 77 °F. (25 °C.)

NOTE: The status of the heated rear window (CAN signal) is detected by the door control unit and can therefore be used to control the exterior mirror heating elements.
