Removal
Removing middle radiator
WARNING
Caustic fluids
- Danger of chemical burns
-> Avoid contact with caustic fluid.
-> Wear personal protective gear.
-> Ensure that there is good ventilation.
-> If you do come into contact, wash off immediately with plenty of warm water and contact a doctor if necessary.
1. Relieve pressure in the cooling system. To do this, carefully open the cover of the coolant reservoir.
2. Clamp shut the coolant hose to the left and right on the radiator using hose clamps.
WARNING
Hot fluid
- Danger of scalding
-> Let the fluid cool down.
-> Wear personal protective gear.
Information
Despite the fact that the coolant has been drained, residual amounts of coolant can still emerge at the joints during removal. Have sufficient collecting containers and cloths to hand.
3. Disconnect coolant hoses from the radiator flanges.
3.1. Release spring clamps -arrow- at the Henn couplings and pull off coolant hoses.
Connections for middle radiator
3.2. Do not overstretch spring clamps, thereby impairing the function of the spring clamps.
4. Unscrew screws (a/f 10, M6 x 16) -1- at the left and right. Remove retaining plate -2-.
Retaining plate for middle radiator
5. Carefully pull the radiator down out of the bracket.
Installation
Installing middle radiator
1. Slide the radiator into the bracket from below and position it.
2. Position retaining plate -2- , on the bracket and secure with two screws (a/f 10, M6 x 16) -1-.
=> Tightening torque: 13 Nm (9.5 ftlb.)

3. Fit coolant hoses on the radiator flanges and slide them in until the spring clamps -arrow- engage at the Henn couplings.
3.1. Check that the coolant hoses and spring clamps are seated correctly.
