Leak test

Information

- Permitted test pressure is 1.4 bar.

1. Remove tailpipes -> 263519 Removing and installing tailpipe cover.
2. Fit plugs -1- into exhaust tailpipes on the rear silencer -see Figure-. Insert plugs into tailpipe outlets. To adapt the diameter (seating surface of rubber seal), turn each lever clockwise or anti-clockwise until the tailpipe outlets are air-tight by moving the tensioning lever through 90°.

3. Connect a pressure gauge -2- to a valve and subject exhaust system to max. 1.4 bar of excess pressure -see Figure-.

Recommended aids for leak testing:






4. Spray individual connection points on the exhaust system (e.g. manifold flange, clamping sleeves) with test spray to make any leaks visible. Repeat test procedure if necessary.
5. Pull off pressure gauge and remove both plugs.
6. Install tailpipes -> 263519 Removing and installing tailpipe cover.
