1. Unscrew the four fastening screws -1- at the left and right and remove the backrest side bolster support -2- at the left and right.

2. Remove foam part -1- at the headrest.

3. Release and pull off connector -1- on control valve for lumbar support adjustment. => 723319 Removing and installing control valve for lumbar support adjustment - section on "Removing"
4. Release and pull off connectors -2 and 3- on lumbar support sensors. => 723419 Removing and installing lumbar support - section on "Removing"
5. Release and pull off connector -4- on backrest adjustment motor. => 728919 Removing and installing motor for backrest adjustment - section on "Removing"
6. Release and disconnect plug connection -5- on lumbar support adjustment motor. => 723619 Removing and installing lumbar support motor - section on "Removing"
7. Release and pull off connector -6- on control unit for memory seat adjustment. => 729319 Removing and installing control unit for memory seat adjustment - section on "Removing"
8. Take off tie-wraps -9- and remove wire harness for backrest -A-.
9. Remove connector -8- on central connector. => 692419 Removing and installing front belt lock - section on "Removing"
10. Take off tie-wraps -9- and remove wire harness for airbag -B-.

1. Route airbag wire harness -B- and secure with new tie-wraps -9-.
2. Fit connector -8- on central connector. => 692419 Removing and installing front belt lock - section on "Installing"
3. Route wire harness for backrest -A- and secure with new tie-wraps -9-.
4. Push on connector -6- on the control unit for memory seat adjustment until it engages securely. => 729319 Removing and installing control unit for memory seat adjustment - section on "Installing"
5. Connect plug connection -5- on lumbar support adjustment motor until it engages securely. => 723619 Removing and installing lumbar support motor - section on "Installing"
6. Plug in connector -4- on backrest adjustment motor until it engages securely. => 728919 Removing and installing motor for backrest adjustment - section on "Installing"
7. Plug in connectors -2 and 3- on the lumbar support sensors until they click into place. => 723419 Removing and installing lumbar support - section on "Installing"
8. Plug in connector -1- on control valve for lumbar support adjustment until it engages securely. => 723319 Removing and installing control valve for lumbar support adjustment - section on "Installing"

Information

Observe installation position of pressure hoses!

Make sure that the pressure hoses are not pinched. Fit pressure hoses exactly into the cut-outs on the foam part.

9. Insert foam part -1- at the headrest.





Fitting foam part

Information

Check that pressure hoses are routed correctly!

On vehicles with lumbar support, check that the pressure hoses are routed correctly close to the backrest side bolster support.

10. Fit backrest side bolster support -2- at the left and right and secure with the four fastening screws -1-.

11. Route airbag wire harness -1- behind the backrest side bolster support -2- as shown.

Subsequent work

1. Install suction fan for seat surface. => 740919 Removing and installing suction fan for seat surface - section on "Installing"
2. Install cover for left backrest. => 722619 Removing and installing cover for backrest - section on "Installing"
3. Install cushion carrier for front backrest. => 722419 Removing and installing cushion carrier for front backrest - section on "Installing"
4. Install the front seat. => 720119 Removing and installing front seat - section on "Installing"
