Preliminary work

1. Remove front seat. => 720119 Removing and installing front seat - section on "Removing"
2. Remove the side airbag. => 696319 Removing and installing side airbag (folding sports bucket seat) - section on "Removing"
3. Remove front seat cushion and partly loosen the seat cover at the side of the seat. => 741319 Removing and installing seat cover (folding sports bucket seat) - section on "Removing"
4. Partly loosen the front backrest cover at the inner side of the seat. => 741919 Removing and installing front backrest cover (folding sports bucket seat) - section on "Removing"
5. Mount the front seat on the assembly fixture. => 7201IN Mounting front seat on assembly fixture

Installation position of wire harness for seat (folding sports bucket seat)

1. Turn airbag connector socket 90° to the left -arrow A- and remove it from the seat shell -arrow B-.

2. Disconnect airbag connector socket.
2.1. Remove tie-wrap -2- on the airbag connector socket -1-.
2.2. Release the connector socket -1- ( -arrows A- ) and remove the two single connectors -3- ( -arrow B- ).

3. Remove the two tie-wraps -1- on the seat shell.

4. Remove wire harness.
4.1. Lift up both pieces of padding -arrows A-
4.2. Unscrew the fastening screw -1- and take off the cover -2- - -arrow B-
4.3. Remove the two tie-wraps -3-.
4.4. Pull the wire harness out of the seat shell and out of the backrest -arrows C-.

Installing wire harness for seat (folding sports bucket seat)

1. Install wire harness.
1.1. Lift up both pieces of padding -arrows A-
1.2. Push the wire harness through the backrest and the seat shell -arrows B- and route it correctly.
1.3. Position the cover -2- ( -arrow C- ) and secure it with the fastening screw -1-. Make sure the line routing is correct!
1.4. Secure the wire harness with two new tie-wraps -3-.

2. Secure the wire harness on the seat shell with two new tie-wraps -1-.

3. Connect airbag connector socket.
3.1. Push the two single connectors -3- into the connector socket -1- ( -arrow- ) until the single connectors engage securely.
3.2. Fit a new tie-wrap -2- on the connector socket -1-.

4. Insert the airbag connector socket into the seat shell -arrow A- and turn it 90° to the right -arrow B-.

Subsequent work

1. Secure the front backrest cover at the inner side of the seat. => 741919 Removing and installing front backrest cover (folding sports bucket seat) - section on "Installing"
2. Secure the seat cover at the side of the seat and fit the front seat cushion. => 741319 Removing and installing seat cover (folding sports bucket seat) - section on "Installing"
3. Install the side airbag. => 696319 Removing and installing side airbag (folding sports bucket seat) - section on "Installing"
4. Install the front seat. => 720119 Removing and installing front seat - section on "Installing"
