Technical values





Preliminary work

1. Remove front apron. -> 631519 Removing and installing front apron - section on "Removing"
2. Only with charge air cooler
Detach the charge air cooler at the side of the bumper. -> 214319 Removing and installing charge air cooler - section on "Removing"

Removing front bumper

Information

Some of the repair illustrations show only one side of the vehicle. Naturally, some steps also have to be performed on the opposite side of the vehicle as well. These must be carried out as a mirror image of the steps shown.

1. Unscrew fastening screw -1- from the lock support.





Loosening lock support

2. Unscrew fastening screws -2- for lock carrier.





Detaching lock carrier and radiator

3. Unscrew fastening screws -3- for the radiator mounting.
4. Turn the radiator mounting -4- 90° -A- and support the radiator on the side members.





Supporting radiator

5. Unscrew fastening screw -5- for the lower cross member.





Detaching bumper

6. Unscrew fastening screws -6- for the side member.
7. Remove bumper in a downward direction.

Installing front bumper

Information

Some of the repair illustrations show only one side of the vehicle. Naturally, some steps also have to be performed on the opposite side of the vehicle as well. These must be carried out as a mirror image of the steps shown.

1. Fit the bumper between the lock carrier and side member from underneath and position it.
2. Screw in all fastening screw -6- for the body and then tighten to => Tightening torque: 60 Nm (44 ftlb.)+/-5 Nm (+/-3.5 ftlb.).





Securing bumper

3. Screw in fastening screw -5- for the lower cross member.
4. Turn the radiator mounting -4- 90° -A- and position it with respect to the bumper.





Positioning radiator mounting

5. Tighten fastening screws -3- for the radiator mounting to => Tightening torque: 25 Nm (19 ftlb.)+/-2.5 Nm (+/-2 ftlb.).





Securing lock carrier and radiator

6. Tighten fastening screws -2- for the lock carrier to => Tightening torque: 12 Nm (9 ftlb.)+/-1 Nm (+/-0.5 ftlb.).
7. Tighten fastening screw -1- on lock support to => Tightening torque: 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.)+/-1 Nm (+/-0.5 ftlb.).





Securing lock support

Subsequent work

1. Only with charge air cooler
Secure the charge air cooler at the side of the bumper. -> 214319 Removing and installing charge air cooler - section on "Installing"
2. Install front apron. -> 631519 Removing and installing front apron - section on "Installing"
