Technical values





Preliminary work

1. Remove cover on front lock support. -> 703919 Removing and installing cover for rear lock support - section on "Removing" 703919 Removing and installing cover for rear lock support

Removing lower part of front lid lock

1. Unscrew fastening screws -9- on lid lock.





Loosening lid lock

2. Pull up lid lock.
3. Unclip actuating cable from the mounting.

Installing lower part of front lid lock

1. The lower part of the front lid lock is installed in reverse order to removal.
2. Lower the lid slowly until the bar for the upper part of the lock -1- is touching the lower part of the lock. The bar must be centred flush with the slit in the lower part of the lock -2-.





Checking position

3. Tighten fastening screws to => Tightening torque: 12 Nm (9 ftlb.)+/-1 Nm (+/-0.5 ftlb.).

Function test on front lid lock

Information

The lid lock does not have an emergency release.

When working close to the front apron and on the various parts of the lock, carry out the following function test before closing the lid:

1. Check that the release cable is clipped fully into the brackets provided.
2. Lock the lower part of the lid lock with a screwdriver.
3. Release the lid lock using the lever in the passenger compartment.
4. Perform a visual inspection to check that the lock releases correctly.

1. Check the closing function of the lid lock.





Checking position

1.1. Close the lid fully.
1.2. Release the lid.
1.3. Check that the hook -3- holds the lid down.
1.4. Release the hook until the bolt on the lower part of the lock -4- is free.

Subsequent work

1. Install cover for front lock support. -> 703919 Removing and installing cover for rear lock support - section on "Installing" 703919 Removing and installing cover for rear lock support
